Just Look … God is here!

I look into the night sky and pray.

It looms immensely and deep as I stare.

Each point of light is many years away.

I know looking out there the Lord does care…

About us mere mortals on this ball of clay.

He created the universe to fill us with awe.

Making of the cosmos is not child’s play.

Who can doubt Him now these wonders we saw...

The billions of stars and galaxies are hope for us all.

He is telling us that He is here, and we just need to ask.

Him for our needs and those of others to make a good call.

Taking our time to stare at the stars … in His glory we bask.

Just look … God is here now!

Just look as the breath of God blows through the trees.

Just look as he pours the rain to nurture the earth.

Just look as he flows streams and rivers throughout the land.

Just look at the majesty of his mountains.

Just look at all of the beauty when he gives us flowers.

Just look as he lights and warms our world with the Sun.

Just look at all the magnificent animals he shares with us.

Just look at your family, friends and neighbors he has given you.

Just look at his blessings of new born babies held by their mothers.

Just look in the mirror at the loving, complex person he created.

Just look carefully and you will see God’s spirit looking back at you.

We all long for His spirit to warm our cold hearts.

We must have faith that he hears our every prayer.

That He calls us his children and hope He imparts

The important lessons of Jesus Christ our savior.

Jesus sacrificed himself so that we may live eternally.

We must not let His gift be left on the cross

To waste away our many blessings that God made so holy.

By not building our faith our soul is our loss.

We hunger for God’s love to feel Him inside.

But to open our hearts we must now decide

To follow Lord Jesus his teaching of love.

And remember his words coming from the Dove

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart

And with all your soul and with all your mind."

We must stop our sinning if we’re smart

Because our faith and actions are entwined.

We must repent our sins and pray for forgiveness

And recognize that we all have human weakness.

But God is gracious and gives us many blessings

That provide our humble lives with happy feelings.

We must live each day as God does wish.

If not, certainly our souls will perish.

We all want to the enter God’s Kingdom

And live for all eternity as Jesus has taught.

To do that we must all use good wisdom

And become the obedient children God sought.

Amen
